Climate Smart Task Force

About the Climate Smart Communities Program

The Town of Hurley joined New York State’s Climate Smart Communities program when it  adopted the Climate Smart Communities Pledge in April 2019 and subsequently created the Hurley Climate Smart Task Force. This program provides a pathway for towns to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build resiliency in the face of climate change on the local level. Becoming certified as a Climate Smart Community through this program provides recognition to towns that take action to lower their GHG emissions and prepare for the effects of climate change.

The task force meets on the second Tuesday of the month.
