Community Solar takes center stage in latest 'Electrification Opportunities Series' presentation

Lynne Bailey, from Hurley’s Climate Smart Task Force, made a presentation during the March 26, 2024, Town Board meeting about the Community Solar initiative.

Bailey’s presentation was part of a three-part “Electrification Opportunities Series” at Town Board meetings, which is providing information about transitioning to clean energy and supports a $20,000 grant challenge from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) that’s underway in Hurley.

Tom Konrad, an energy coach and chairman of Marbletown's Environmental Conservation Commission, spoke at the Feb. 27 Hurley Town Board meeting about split air/heat pump installations. When five such installations in the Town are reported, we are eligible for $5,000 in grant money; 10 installations can get us $10,000. (See grant details  at tinyurl.com/grants-opp.)

At an April meeting of the Town Board (date and startig time TBA), presenters will take a closer look at electric vehicle (EV) ownership, sum up the clean energy program, and discuss financial incentives.
