Highway Department
The Highway Department is responsible for Hurley's 52 miles of Town roads. The department is headed by a Superintendent who is elected to a two-year term. Michael Shultis, our current Superintendent, directs a crew of 11 in blacktopping, snow plowing, and the repair and maintenance of our roads. They also handle seasonal and special projects as the need arises.

* In case of emergency, if you are unable to contact the Highway Department directly to report a road hazard or dangerous condition, call 911.
* To report fallen trees on or near wires, contact Central Hudson at (845) 452-2700, Spectrum (866) 302-9881 or Verizon (833) VERIZON. Highway crews will NOT remove trees or branches that are hanging on or leaning against wires of any kind.
