Ulster County Board of Elections seeks poling place workers

The Ulster County Board of Elections is looking for people to work as Election Inspectors at polling places for the upcoming Presidential Primaries on April 2, Federal/State/Local Primaries on June 25, and General Election on Nov. 5.

Election Inspectors, a.k.a. polling place workers, are registered voters (affiliation with a specific political party is not required) who are trained by the Board of Elections to help run elections in accordance with applicable laws.

Election Inspectors are paid $18 per hour, plus $60 to attend mandatory training.

Inspectors generally work from 5:15 a.m. until about 9:30 p.m. on voting days.

Those interested in working as an Ulster County Election Inspector, including those who have done so in the past, must fill out the survey posted at tinyurl.com/UC-elec-survey.

Complete details about becoming an Ulster County Election Inspector are posted at tinyurl.com/UC-elec-inspect.

The Ulster County Board of Elections can be reached by phone at (845) 334-5470 – ask for Michael Quimby or Doug Tyler – or by email at inspectors@co.ulster.ny.us. The Board of Elections office, at 79 Hurley Ave. (Suite 112) in Kingston, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
