Brush Update

Transfer Station Accepting Hurley Resident's Brush

The Transfer Station is accepting brush from Hurley residents as we clean up from last week's tornado. Hurley residents are currently limited to one standard pickup truck worth of brush per day.

Permits are $20 for residents. Permits are good for one calendar year.

The Supervisor's Office is working directly with Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency. UCRRA will grind the excess brush at the Transfer Station at no charge, The Town will pay for gas and machine rental. The chips will become property of the UCRRA to use in their composting operation. The Town has requested collaboration with the Highway Department for this as well as residential brush pick up. The work with UCRRA will start by the beginning of August.

If you have questions or would like to request updates as they become available, please contact the supervisor's office at (845) 331-7474 x5
