Town aware of trash along transfer station fence

Lack of collection, strong winds to blame
Hurley aware of trash along transfer station fence

Some town residents have voiced concerns in recent days about trash accumulating along the fence at the Hurley Transfer Station on Dug Hill Road.

This is the result of two things: The Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency not picking up all of the containers either Friday or Saturday of last week, and trash being blown around by the recent strong winds in what already is a windy location.

The town is aware of and dealing with the problem, and such cleanup also will be among the duties of the new custodian/groundskeeper who will be hired at the beginning of 2023.
