The Town of Hurley is deeply saddened to report the passing of longtime Town Clerk Judy Mayhon.

Judy, 70, died on Friday, June 2, 2023, after an illness.

Judy first was elected Town Clerk in November 2007 and was re-elected every two years after that through November 2021. She previously worked as a Deputy Town Clerk.

"I am so sorry to learn of Judy's passing," Hurley Supervisor Melinda McKnight said. "Throughout her years in public service, she served the Town and its residents with dedication. I, the Town Board and the staff send her family our deepest condolences."

Judy's husband of 50 years, Gary, died this past February. She is survived by one daughter, five siblings, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Another daughter died previously.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 11, at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. A memorial service will begin at 4 p.m., led by Rev. Charles Stickley.
